At 39 years old, I found myself overweight, out of shape, and my doctor telling me to go on medicine for high blood pressure. I knew that if I just got in shape my health would improve without medicine. The problem was I didn’t know how to do it effectively on my own. I was at the recreation center and saw a contest flyer for a fitness challenge / weight loss contest.

I entered the contest, and I started a meal plan designed special for my body type. I also started a physical training regiment that progressed with my results. The contest was a 12-week challenge that was filled with peaks of confidence and valleys of uncertainty. When I had a week that didn’t yield results like I thought it should I just held on another week and results compounded in following weeks. So stick with it no matter what, follow the details in the plan and you too can realize your fitness goals!

Now that I know how to eat healthy and exercise, my lifestyle has changed and I feel great! My family loves my new energy level and my doctor can keep her medication!
